Just before you commit to your action plan for 2019, here are a few thoughts on motivation from me to you:

1. You need a telescope and a microscope

A forward thinking dream like vision is important, but equally as important is the attention to the details that will make that vision come to reality. Achieving fitness goals is nothing more than consistently applying effort to things that will deliver your specific type of success. So choose to do the things you can consistently stick to and that deliver on the things that YOU want!

2. Turn your monologue to dialogue

You create a vision for change today, but that same voice in your head that talked you out of it or that said “you can’t do that” is still there tomorrow. Instead of trying to morph completely overnight, accept some of the “old you” may still be around for a while. Grow the positive voice into the stronger more dominant version and start listening.

3. Plan regular mind breaks

Changing your habits and behaviours is exhausting, let’s face it. Particularly if for example you have a lot of weight to lose. Set yourself times where you get a mental break. The goal here isn’t to deliberately go off plan, it’s to get some mental space without feeling guilty.
