The Storm Young Athlete Development Academy is a program that was developed at Storm Fitness by Spencer Davey and Lome Faatau, both of whom had very successful careers as professional athletes.
 

The optimal period to begin strength training is 11 to 13 years for girls and 13-15 for boys. By starting strength training early you can reduce the risk of injury and maximise performance by training proper movement patterns and improving the way in which groups of muscles work together.

 

We are passionate about developing the talents of the young people we work with and we understand the importance of creating the right culture for continued improvement. Each training and nutritional program is completely tailored to the individual and focuses on specific outcomes that are unique to that athletes career goals.

We take careful consideration over planning training programs for young athletes taking into account the total amount of training and playing time and we develop training programs that compliment athletes’ schedules rather than work against them. Storm Fitness are in a fortunate position to have the experience and expertise of trainers that can only be obtained from a professional sporting career, and can therefore serve as, not only a trainer, but more importantly, a mentor to other aspiring athletes.
